Tags are probably the most important object type in your ProphecyIoT installation and are certainly one of the more complex. They represent machine data collected through Prophecy's Data Acquisition Engine, and are used by Aggregations, Alarms, Dashboards, Data Points, and Diagrams.

Tags are created through the Tag Manager. The Tag Manager is constructed of the three main areas below:

• Top Menu Bar: The Top Menu Bar is where the functions to Add Tags, Add Groups, Delete Groups, Delete Tags, and Export Tag References are located.

• Tag Tree: The Tag Tree is a graphical representation of the grouping and sub grouping of all the tags in your installation.

• Tag Editor: The Tag Editor contains all the fields that can be set for a tag in Prophecy as well as a place to configure Alarms.
