The data types tree is a graphical representation of the grouping and sub grouping of all the data types in the ProphecyIoT installation. Groups and subgroups in the data types Tree are displayed with an upside down triangle to the left of the group name and a folder icon to the right of the group name. Data types are right indented and displayed with a data type icon to the right of the data type name. All items in the data type Tree are sub items of the Data Types group. This is the main group in all ProphecyIoT installations. All data types, groups, and subgroups added through the user interface will be placed inside of this group.

Searching Data Types

All data type Groups and data types in the data type Tree are searchable. To search Groups and data types, simply start typing in the Search Box at the top of the data type Tree. The search will automatically start filtering the list with every key stroke. To show the complete list, simply remove all text from the 'Search Box'.

Selecting Tags

To select a data type, find the data type in the data type Tree and click on the data type name. Clicking on the data type name will highlight the data type and enable all of the configurable properties of the data type in the Edit View.
